Repairs

So it looks like we'll be here for a few more weeks, our chain plates need to be redone. Chain plates are a integral part of the rigging, they attach and secure the standing rigging from the hull of the boat to the mast. Here's a better description from Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chainplate
And here's a picture of what ours will kind of look like: http://www.woodenboatfittings.com.au/public/sanderling-port-chainplates.jpg
It'll be a big job, and the new chain plates are being fabricated as we speak in LA. The good news is that Mike is a rigger by trade, so he's got the knowledge and experience to fix them. There's not much I can do to help, so I'm currently looking for a small job on the side (Hawaii is expensive!). We'll see if the "Poor Boyz Yacht Club" wants to hire me on for a bit.
